Florida Filly (2f Sioux Nation – Cmonbabylitemyfire, by Piccolo) made all to win the five furlong fillies’ maiden at Hamilton on Thursday.
Jamie Gormley took the ride, with the Iain Jardine-trained bay appearing to appreciate the front-running tactics and was asked to quicken approaching the final furlong. Running on well, she prevailed by three parts of a length, as the favourite did her best to narrow the gap.
Florida Filly is owned by James Fyffe, who along with Compas Equine, purchased her from Castletown Stud at the Goffs Sportsmans Sale. The daughter of Sioux Nation was sold on behalf of breeder Grange Stud.
