Impressive Group Double For Castletown Graduates

Nachtrose (3f Australia – Night Of Magic, by Peintre Celebre) produced an impressive performance to win the Group 2 Italian Oaks in track record time on just her third career start.

The Peter Schiergen-trained chesnut led from the early stages under Bauyrzhan Murzabayev and drew clear approaching the final furlong, staying on well to win by three lengths. The performance saw her emerge as a leading fancy for the Group 1 Preis der Diana, for which she is now third favourite.

Ursula and Jurgen Imm’s homebred emulates her dam’s win in the 2009 Italian Oaks and both were raised at Castletown Stud.

The same can be said for their relation Norge (4f Dylan Thomas – Nazbanou, by High Chaparral), who won the Group 3 Premio del Giubileo later on the card.

Bauyrzhan Murzabayev was also aboard the Ralf Rohne-trained bay and produced a challenge between horses two furlongs from home. Ridden to lead approaching the final furlong, she ran on well to beat the favourite by a length and three quarters.

Owned by Issa Mambetov, Norge was bred by Ursula and Jurgen Imm.
