Half Brother To Latrobe Shapes Well On UK Debut

The well-bred Enthused (4g Zoffany – Question Times, by Shamardal) shaped like a smart prospect on his British debut in a ten furlong novice stakes at Beverley.

The half-brother to Irish Derby hero Latrobe made just one start in Hong Kong before switching to the Chris Dwyer stable and was sent off favourite under Silvestre De Sousa. Pushed along from three furlongs out, he joined the leader a furlong later and led approaching the final furlong. Running on well under pressure, he won by half a length, as the front pair drew well clear of the field.

Owned by Ben Wong, Enthused was bought by Suzanne Roberts at the Goffs Orby Sale for €325,000. The bay was consigned by Castletown Stud on behalf of breeder Sweetmans Bloodstock, as were his Stakes-winning siblings Diamond Fields, Latrobe and Pink Dogwood.
