Gutsy Filly Off The Mark On Second Start

Deep Impression (2f Footstepsinthesand – Parvenue, by Ezzoud) showed significant improvement on her second start to land Tuesday’s maiden at Beverley.

Stepping up in trip to seven and a half furlongs, she was switched left to challenge over a furlong from home and kept on well to lead close home. The winning margin was a neck, with the front pair finishing three lengths clear of the favourite in third.

There should be more to come from the Mark Johnston-trained filly, who showed signs of inexperience in running. Owned by Kingsley Park Racing, she was sold by Castletown Stud to her trainer as a yearling.
