Awesome Dancer (3g Highland Reel – Adutchgirl, by Dutch Art) produced a strong finish to get off the mark in Friday’s mile and a half contest at Ascot.
Pat Cosgrave partnered George Baker’s charge as he stepped up in trip and held up the chesnut at the back of the field for much of the way. Making headway from two furlongs out, he was ridden to lead approaching the final furlong and kept on well to win by a length and three quarters.
Owned by Carbine Of London Racing, Awesome Dancer was sold by Castletown Stud as a yearling to his trainer and Angie Loder. The son of Highland Reel is the first foal out of Adutchgirl, whose Holy Roman Emperor filly will be offered by Castletown Stud at Tattersalls Book 3.
