Whitsbury Manor Stud have enjoyed great success with Suelita since sourcing her from Castletown Stud’s draft at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale, and on Saturday, that reached new heights when Suelita’s son Chaldean captured the 2,000 Guineas.
Chaldean won four of his five juvenile starts, including the Group 3 Acomb Stakes, Group 2 Champagne Stakes and Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes. Stepping up to a mile for the first time at Newmarket, Andrew Balding’s charge was ridden to lead inside the final furlong and kept on strongly under Frankie Dettori to score by a length and three quarters.
Chaldean is one of five Stakes horses produced by Suelita, with all six of her produce winners.
