Castletown Graduate Strikes For OTI Racing

Ottoman Emperor (3c Excelebration – Ibiza Empress, by Tertullian) built on a promising debut to win a ten furlong maiden in the colours of OTI Racing.

Ben Coen rode the Johnny Murtagh-trained colt in midfield, asking him to quicken from three furlongs out and improved to lead entering the final furlong. Keeping on well, the chesnut beat the favourite by three parts of a length on the line.

Speaking after the race, the winning rider said, “. He bounced off the ground well and I still think there is a bit more to come from him. Hopefully he can keep improving and we can have a good season with him.”

The three-year-old was bred by Castletown Stud and Minch Bloodstock out of a half-sister to Group performer Pleasant Surprise.
