Castletown Consignment In Demand At Tattersalls

Castletown Stud celebrated a magnificent result at the Tattersalls Foal Sale when selling a daughter of Sea The Stars for 400,000gns; the third highest price of the week.

Bought by the US-based Woodford Thoroughbreds, the February-born bay is a half-sister to two Stakes performers from two runners. From a top German family, she benefitted from a timely update, as her dam’s half-sister produced Group 1 Criterium International winner Alson.

Just two lots later, Woodford Thoroughbreds parted with 150,000gns to secure Lot 1021 from Castletown Stud, a Lope De Vega half-sister to Italian 1,000 Guineas third Kocna. Her dam Star Approval is an unraced half-sister to Group 1 heroine Mail The Desert and comes from the family of champion older horse Norse Dancer, himself another star graduate of Castletown Stud.
